We are delighted to announce that this year’s Gala Honorees are Orange County treasures Janet and Carl Nolet and Lara and Tom Giddings. What makes this pairing so special is their devotion to our mission of finding a cure for type 1 diabetes as well as their close bond of family friendship.

In 2009, Lara and Tom Giddings’ eldest daughter was diagnosed with T1D at the young age of 10. Like so many of you, the Giddings family rallied. They relied on a network of physicians, family and friends to help them navigate this disease.

Among their friends, Janet and Carl Nolet stood out and stood up. They became key supporters of the Giddings family and continue to be to this day.

In the spirit of this great friendship, the Giddings asked the Nolets to join them as honorees at this year’s Dream Gala.

Their story is a testament to power of a local community united around a common purpose. A community right here in Orange County destined to change the lives of millions of families. A community connected to a global organization with a strategic plan to remove the impact of T1D progressively from people's lives until it is no longer a threat to anyone. Ever.

And for that, we are grateful to Janet and Carl Nolet and Lara and Tom Giddings.
